Workshop Technologist
Tesema Bereda got his bachelor degree in Manufacturing Technology from Agro Technical and Technology College of Menschen für Menschen (MfM-ATTC) in 2018 G.C and he has more than two and half years of experience as welder and a machinist (milling, shaper and lathe machine specialist) at a reputable engineering workshop and also worked as a mechanic on blowing, filling, labeling and packing machine at Today Natural and Purified Water factory. Moreover, he had been working in electrical based bread baking business as an entrepreneur.
Bereket Asmamaw
Workshop Technologist
Bereket Asmamaw got her bachelor degree in Manufacturing Technology from Agro Technical and Technology College of Menschen für Menschen (MfM-ATTC) in 2018 G.C. She has two and half years of experience at Haramaya University as Senior Technical Assistant in Mechanical Engineering Department. During her stay at Haramaya university, she has been engaged in the design and manufacturing of pedal operated hand washing machine and mechanical ventilation in combating Covid-19 pandemic in addition to her regular duties.
Semenesh Berihun
Accountant and Human Resources Officer
Semenesh holds a bachelor Degree in Accounting and Finance from Dire Dawa University. She has eight years of experience at Higher Education Strategy Center and Alert Hospital Experience. She is certified at Microsoft offices, Peachtree accounting software, International, Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS) , Government accounting and Reporting system, and Integrated Financial Management System (IFMIS)
Teshome Guangule
Technology & Innovation Supervisor
Teshome Guangul serves as Technology and Innovation Transfer officer at the STEM Synergy Ethiopian country office. Before joining STEM Synergy Inc., he served at Metals and Engineering Corporation (MTEC) as design engineer. Teshome earned his Bachelor's degree from Addis Ababa University in Applied Physics with a minor in energy technology and he also have a degree from Unity University in Architecture and urban planning. In addition, he has a short-term training certificate from SATCOM institute of technology in mobile and smart phone maintenance. Currently, he is a second-year student of Addis Ababa University doing his masters degree in management focusing on in innovation management and entrepreneurship.
Abiyot Lakew
Technology Transfer Manager
Abiyot Lakew serves as Senior Technology Transfer Manager in the STEM Synergy's country office. Before joining STEM Synergy Inc., he served the Agro Technical and Technology College of Menschen fuer Menschen as a lecturer in the Manufacturing Technology Department for more than 12 years.
Abiyot comes to STEM Synergy with background experience of product design, manufacturing of prototypes, and teaching various Mechanical engineering courses to manufacturing and automotive students at MfM-ATTC.
Abiyot earned his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Addis Ababa University and Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering From Haramaya University. He is also finalizing his Master's degree in Energy Economics at Haramaya University.
Assegedech Shawel
National Director
Asegedech Shawl– Is a country representative of STEM synergy. Prior to this, Asegedech served for more than 8 years in different positions as senior researcher and educational policy analyst at Higher Education Strategy Center (HESC). She has produced a research paper entitled “Girl’s in STEM subjects in Ethiopia: Analysis of challenges and policy options”. Her research findings helped for the government of Ethiopia to make evidence based decisions in strengthening STEM education. Before that Asegedech served as a coordinator of competency based curriculum preparation and harmonization of Ethiopian higher education. She participated in the team that validated the module curricula when she was at HESC. In addition to her formal job assignment, Asegedech has been a coordinator for cross cutting issues including Gender, HIV/AIDs and special needs at HESC. Before joining HESC, she also served at different positions in Southern Nation Nationalities and people Region (SNNPR), as an educational assurance expert for four years in accrediting secondary schools, and as an Academic Dean of TVET College for four years as well as as a principal of Awassa comprehensive high school. Before assuming the principalship position, Asegedech had taught mathematics teacher for 15 years. She has experience in preparing and reviewing mathematics text books and teachers guide for different grade levels . As a volunteer, she offered short term trainings in leadership, competency Based Education for women and other different groups. She also served as a chairwoman for SNNP Regional subchapter of Forum for African Women Educationalist (FAWE).
Asegedech has a Masters (MA) degree in Organizational Leadership, from Azusa Pacific University, California and a B.Sc. degree in Mathematics from Addis Ababa University. Moreover, she earned an
Advanced diploma in secondary school principalship from Dilla University and a Diploma in Theology, from Pentecostal training College, 0n June 2001;
