
Tsegaye Legesse, CPA/MBA

Tsegaye Legesse serves as a director on STEM Synergy’s Board of Directors.
Tsegaye comes to STEM Synergy with extensive background experiences in corporate, public, and non-profit organizations. He has worked across several industries including Education, Accounting & Finance, Pension and Healthcare, Investments, Insurance, and International Development. He has developed several useful skills that translate to multiple industries.
Tsegaye has served as a Sr. Project Manager for IFOS Managing Consultants at the US Federal Department of Labor. Prior to this role, Tsegaye was an Accounting Manager at the National Institute of Health, US Federal Agency. Before that, he was an Assistant Controller and Sr. Corporate Accountant in different corporations and NGOs in the US. Currently, he serves as a founding board member of the Ethio-American Chamber of Commerce. He also sits as a board and/or committee member for various civic/social organizations in the Washington DC metropolitan area. Before he left Ethiopia, he worked for World Vision International as a Communication and External Relations Officer.
Tsegaye earned his Bachelor’s of Arts (BA) degree from Addis Ababa University and MBA degree from the University of Towson/Baltimore, USA. He won a private scholarship overseas. He has a graduate certificate in Education for Development at the University of Oslo, Norway. Tsegaye holds his bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting and earned his CPA (Certified Public Accountant) in the USA and holds a certificate in Project Management from PMI and a license in health and life insurance from the State of Maryland Insurance Administration.
