We are delighted to welcome Rafael Osterloh and Christoph Schneider-Yattara to the Board of Directors of STEM Synergy International. Their diverse expertise and dedication to youth empowerment will further strengthen our mission of equipping Ethiopia’s youth with STEM skills, fostering innovation, and creating meaningful career pathways.
Rafael Osterloh
Rafael brings more than 10 years of international experience in migration policy, youth employment, and development cooperation. His work with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) included supporting the African Union Commission on labor migration and free movement, advancing TVET initiatives in Nigeria, and coordinating reintegration programs for returnees and refugee communities across Europe, Africa and beyond. Rafael holds a degree in International Development from the University of Vienna and is fluent in German, Spanish, English, and French. His expertise in aligning education and skills training with labor market demands strongly supports STEM Synergy’s vision of preparing youth for the future.
Christoph Schneider-Yattara
Christoph brings over 20 years of leadership in humanitarian aid, peacebuilding, and sustainable development across Africa and beyond. As Regional Director for the Horn of Africa at a major international NGO, he managed multi-country operations and advanced strategies that integrated peacebuilding, humanitarian assistance, and long-term development. Christoph’s background in interfaith diplomacy, climate resilience, and economic justice uniquely complements STEM Synergy’s mission. He holds a Master of Theology from the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago (LSTC) and MBA coursework in Sustainability Management from Leuphana University, Germany. Fluent in German and English, with working knowledge of Amharic and French.
With their combined leadership and experience, Rafael and Christoph will play a pivotal role in guiding STEM Synergy International as we continue expanding opportunities for Ethiopia’s youth through education, technology, and innovation.
