STEM Synergy, in partnership with Addis Ababa Science and Technology University (AASTU), has proudly launched a transformative three-month Girls’ STEM Camp focused on Digital Skills, Electronics, and Artificial Intelligence.
The program brings together 30 talented grade 9 and grade 10 female students selected from schools across Addis Ababa, providing them with hands-on training and mentorship to build confidence and future-ready skills in high-demand STEM fields.

The opening ceremony was held at AASTU in the presence of distinguished institutional leaders, including
- Ato Abiyot Lakew, Country Director, STEM Synergy
- Dr. Abreham Debebe, Vice President for Research and Technology Transfer, AASTU
- Dr. Kenatu Angassa, Community Engagement Director, AASTU
- Dr. Natnael Nigussie, STEM Center Coordinator, AASTU
Their remarks motivated the participants and underscored the importance of supporting young women in STEM. STEM Synergy sincerely acknowledges the financial support of the Diplomatic Spouses Group Ethiopia (DSGE) Project Matrix Team, whose contribution made this initiative possible. The same program will also be launched next week at the Kotebe University of Education STEM Center, further expanding its impact.
This initiative reflects our continued commitment to closing the gender gap in STEM, building confidence among young girls, and equipping them with future-ready skills for innovation and leadership.
Together, we are shaping a more inclusive and innovative STEM future for Ethiopia.
