STEM Synergy, in collaboration with Addis Ababa Science and Technology University (AASTU), has successfully launched a three month Girls STEM Camp focused on Digital Skills, Electronics, and Artificial Intelligence for 30 Grade 9 and 10 female students selected from various schools across Addis Ababa.
The opening ceremony was held at AASTU in the presence of distinguished institutional leaders, including STEM Synergy Country Director, Ato Abiyot Lakew, AASTU Vice President for Research and Technology Transfer, Dr. Abreham Debebe, Community Engagement Director, Dr. Kenatu Angassa, and STEM Center Coordinator, Dr. Natnael Nigussie, who delivered inspiring remarks and valuable guidance to motivate the trainees.
STEM Synergy sincerely acknowledges the financial support of the Diplomatic Spouses Group Ethiopia (DSGE) Project Matrix Team, whose contribution made this initiative possible. The same program will also be launched next week at the Kotebe University of Education STEM Center, further expanding its impact.
This initiative reflects our continued commitment to closing the gender gap in STEM, building confidence among young girls, and equipping them with future ready skills for innovation and leadership.
