STEM Synergy and Dilla University have renewed their partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on February 21, 2026.
Under the agreement, the two institutions will co-design programs, share resources, and train primary and secondary school students. Together, they aim to advance the next generation of innovators through strengthened STEM education, expanded outreach initiatives, student training, and hands-on problem-solving programs.
During the signing ceremony, Dr. Elias Alemu, President of Dilla University, highlighted the Dilla University STEM Center’s success in nurturing innovators and producing strong competitors in national competitions. He also emphasized the university’s readiness to collaborate with various organizations to further enhance its STEM programs.
Mr. Abiyot Lakew, Country Representative of STEM Synergy, shared that the STEM Center was established by STEM Synergy in 2012, with initial operational costs covered to support practical, hands-on education. He noted that the center is one of several STEM centers established nationwide and expressed his appreciation for the university’s strong commitment to strengthening STEM education.
Initiatives like this are essential for building the next generation of Ethiopian innovators, particularly through expanded outreach and practical, skills-based education.
