Christoph Schneider-Yattara Board Member

Christoph Schneider-Yattara brings over 20 years of leadership experience in humanitarian aid, peacebuilding, and sustainable development to the Board of Directors of STEM Synergy International. Based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, he previously served as Regional Director for the Horn of Africa at a major international NGO, overseeing multi-country operations and multi-million-dollar portfolios across Ethiopia, Eritrea, Somalia, Sudan, and South Sudan. His work focused on integrating humanitarian assistance, peacebuilding, and long-term development under the “triple nexus” framework, with an emphasis on creating youth opportunities, strengthening educational and vocational programs, and promoting community resilience.

Christoph holds a Master of Theology from the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago (LSTC), specializing in Intercultural Theology and Development Studies, and completed MBA coursework in Sustainability Management at Leuphana University, Germany. He is fluent in German and English, with basic proficiency in Amharic and French. Christoph is also the co-founder of the Chamber of Businesses of African Descent (CBAD), promoting inclusive economic development and entrepreneurship, and served as ACT Convenor of the ACT Ethiopia Forum, coordinating joint humanitarian appeals totaling over $15M USD and implementing multiple triple nexus projects.

A recognized thought leader in interfaith diplomacy, economic justice, and climate resilience, Christoph strengthens STEM Synergy’s mission by bringing strategic vision, global partnerships, and hands-on experience in youth development, equipping Ethiopia’s youth with STEM skills and connecting them to practical, real-world opportunities.
